View Full Version : New Springfield Armory M-6 Carbine
Has anyone seen or fired the new M-6 carbine? It looks like the stock folds up and I was wondering if it did? They also say that you can fire .45 Colt in the .410. My question about that is the barrel rifled? Or is a smooth bore. If it's smooth, I suppose the .45 colt would be for close range work. It really looks like a neat little package and the price is pretty good!

Sure is an ugly looking thing, isn't it?
There's a Scout M6 in my gunsafe that was one of the first offered by Springfield. I'd guess the action and barrels are still the same, just changed the danged lever bar trigger to a regular trigger.
The .410 barrel has a full choke in it - wouldn't think that would be too good shooting .45LC bullets through. Tried some .410 slug rounds through mine and the pattern looked like buckshot at 25 yds. Imagine the .45LC would do the same.
Thanks for the reply. I think the website for the new M-6 carbine says that you can shoot the .45 Long Colt in the .410 barrel. I sure wouldn't try it in any old .410 shotgun or something with a full choke! The NEF Survivor also is cambered for the .410 and .45 Long Colt in the same barrel.

Yeah, the M-6 carbine is an ugly gun, but for $169, it will shoot .22LR + .410 shotgun + .45 LC!
