I was just wondering if anyone has had a chance yet to try out the Remington 504 in .22lr yet? It looks very nice. It feels nice. But I have not yet gotten the chance to try one of them at the bench yet. If they happen to shoot anywhere near as good as they look, then I'll have to get one sometime.

I have to agree, I just handled my first one at a gunshow this past weekend. Seemed to handle very well. But at the price listed on the one I saw ($625.00), I think it's too expensive for what it is. Just my opinion. Glen

Seems to be the going opinion of most folks I talk to. For the Kimberesque' price it's hard to get overly excited about it , especially when you pop out that 597-like magazine out of the well. I think if the price ran neck and neck with the Ruger 77/22's they would see alot more consumer interest.

I've ordered one for test and evaluation and will let everyone know once I've taken it through its paces. That MSRP is a tough nut to crack, so there's got to be something about the gun that Remington is really proud of! (And it can't be that 597 magazine!)

I just got an email from Remington and I should be getting my 504 for test and evaluation within 3 weeks. I'll let you know what I find out once I spend some time with the gun.

I heard that Remington is getting this stock from a different vendor than they get their centerfire walnut stocks from and that the finish is not nearly as nice as their other guns. I was told the finish scratches off much easier.

When you review the 504 could you compare the finish to a centerfire Remington and let me know what you find?
