I'm using Winchester brass now for 45-70. If I switch to Starline will there be a noticable difference in accuracy? the other components are 49gr. RL-7, Win Large Rifle primers 405gr rem bullets, out of a Guide Gun. Would the load need to be re-worked up? Thanks again, Robie.

I would...there is proabably a volume differnce in cases. Proably not enough to push pressure over the edge (it COULD...but not that likely, and it would be better to be safe). A small change in volume has a larger effect on pressure than you'd think...and even if the pressure change
isn't excessive, it can still make a differnce in accuracy.
Starline 45/70 cases are a good choice...been using them, plesed with the loads, and their service life is long.

The question is what is wrong with Winchester brass?
Any change in components of a published load requires a reduction of the starting load by 5-8% and working up carefully toward the maximum load watching for signs of excessive pressure or velocity.

Wrong impression...I have nothing against WW 45/70 brass...was making an order for Starline 9mm Largo, so just added the 45/70 cases in to the same request...just saving a buck or two on handling/shipping.

My reason was cost too. there is quite a difference of cost and items that are carried by the various supplers.
Graf has all the different brands of brass, but don't carry the 405gr. rem. bullet. (The guy I spoke too didn't know why they don't.)And Graf doesn't charge shipping, but have higher prices. Midsouth carries only Rem. brass, but prices are good( they charge shipping).
How is Rem. brass in 45-70? I use Rem. brass in other calibers and have no problems.
Midway has all the brass brands and the 405gr. Mid-prices plus shipping. Guess I'll go with them for Win brass/405's.Thanks for your help, Robie.
