I also posted this under gunsmithing but thought someone here could help me too.
I just received my Williams Fire Sights today for my Ruger GP-100 and Marlin 1894CP. I thought the Ruger was going to be the one to give me problems. Got them installed in about 30 minutes (spring on rear sight a little stubborn). Rear sight on the Marlin no problem but having trouble getting the front sight started. I thought the dovetail was suppose to have a slight taper for installation from right to left? Don't want to damage anything. Is there a trick to this? Do I need to file the dovetail a little to get it started? Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.
