I don't think that Marlin ever chambered the 7-30 Waters in the 336. The only way to get one would be a custom job. Numerich's did have some Winchester '94AE 20" barrels in stock. I think rebarreling a Winchester '94AE 30-30 with one of them would be a much more cost friendly option.
Hope this helps, :)

You were right. Numerich has a 7-30 Waters barrel for $69. Our local pawn shop has a good looking 94 AE for $175. And, I can get a 7-30 Achely Improved reamer for $89. Can you image a 120 grain bullet at close to 3000 ft sec from a lever action gun? Should make an interest project. Thanks, Taylor

You're welcome,
Looks like things are falling into place real nice for your project. I picked up one of those '94AE 7-30 Waters carbine barrels 2 years ago and I'm still waiting for the right deal on a nice used 94AE to come my way. Can't seem to locate one locally under $250 to save my life. :(
Oh, well no big hurry. I'll just be patient until the right price comes along.
Let us know how she shoots. A 120gr around 2900-3000 fps from a twenty inch barrel sounds like a lot of fun, if you can get that much out of it.

I got all excided and forgot that it is a 20 inch barrel. That will cut the speed down to about 2850 ft per second. Still not bad.

Velocity in the 2800's is certainly nothing to sneeze at. I'm sure it will do everything you ask of the cartridge. I was thinking if I ever find a 94AE at a reasonable price to re-barrel that it would make a great dog buster for calling yotes in the thick stuff with the 120 grn bullet.
Dale Storey in Casper, Wyoming can get you hooked up. He does great work on lever guns.
I suggest going with the PO Ackley Improved version for longer case life and slightly greater velocities.
