The local scrap yard has pure lead sheeting out of an X ray room for 30 cents a pound. Is this a reasonable price?
Thanks,

Jump on it dude. its 1.47 pound around here. Matter of fact, Im in Fl. Might be worth a drive if you got to much.
Watch for bullets that "glow in the dark". :D Just kidding. I pay about $.15/lb for pure lead here in the midwest at the scap yard. Not quite as clean as the lead sheets though.

Not to worry about radiation...it doesn't become radioactive. But you can fold it into a hat to keep the aliens from reading your thoughts.
Usually is quite thin (either 1/8" or 1/4") and heavily oxidized...still, 30cents a pound is a good deal as it's usually very soft lead...if you don't want to alloy it, know some muzzle loaders out there would trade harder lead for it.

I just came from my local scrap yard. He has 4000 lbs of pure lead sheeting (must have been some X-Ray room). It's a AON deal so I guess I have alot of lead to sell/use. Cost me $.35/lb...will sell for the same price buyer pays freight.
Any interest?

That may not be "pure" lead. It may contain a little antimony to "stiffen" it for wall use.
I got some pure lead roof sheating for .25/pd

I don't know if it's from roof, x-ray or from roll lead. All I know is that it weighs 2 TONS. My tester says 4.5 to 5.0.
I am about 60 miles from Cincinnati. I do have someone interested in 1 ton at least. Will know the balance left on Monday. I would have been happy with just 500 pounds.
