for something better?I guess it's just human nature at work.I presently have a Tasco red dot on my Mod.444.Never had a problem with it but I still find myself looking for another sight media.Ever since I have seen the "halo"type I have this feeling they would be much better. The only incident with my current set up that caused a problem was more self inflicted. While on a hunt last season, during a furious noreaster, the uncapped eye piece filled with snow.Duhhhh.As I'm TRYING to get the snow out,all I could think is," all I need now is a ten to pass by".With that situation,I'd have to use the top of the scope as a sight, not good.
I like the looks of the ATN Ultra.I just wonder how tough they are.Anyone with experience with these,I would like to here from.Keep in mind it will go on a 444Marlin(rifle) that will be spittin flames when I'm done. They look pretty rugged, but being as how this will cost more than my rifle did new(30 yrs ago) I don't want to go overboard.
Thanks
