I was wondering if anyone has an opinion on the new Zeiss Conquest scopes. The reason I ask is that the older Zeiss scopes were much more expensive than the newer Conquest, is the quality of the Conquest scopes the same as the older Zeiss scopes? Also, would you recommend the Conquest or would you spend the extra money on a Swarovski? Thanks for your help.

I carry several of the Zeiss Conquest and a line of Leupolds, VX I , II , and III. I will sometimes have a few Burris or Nikons on display also. I have always been very happy in the past using Leupolds. About a year ago, I mounted a Zeiss Conquest on my Remington .264 win, mag. The extra amount of brightness and clearity was amazing. The scope is worth the extra cost if you really like fine optics. The Conquest is an american made scope where the regular Zeiss is still made in europe as I understand it. When my new stainless Remington 700 BDL in .220 Swift arrives, I am going to mount another 4.5 X 14 Zeiss Conquest on it. That will make a fine whitetail deer and varmint rifle for me. I recently mounted a Zeiss Conquest 3.5 X 10 on my wifes model 7 in .260 rem. She is very happy with the scope. She claims it is easier for her to find the target in the Zeiss than it was with her Leupold VX-II 4 X 12 X 40MM that she had been using in the past. Every single customer that I have sold one to claims to be very happy with them. In my personal feelings, its like Leupold is a Cadilliac, and Zeiss is like a BMW. You will have a top quaility unit no matter which on of them you pick. I hope that this helps you a little.

Don't have a Zeiss Conquest. But I'd like to post this to thank the guys at Zeiss for great customer service. I sent a pair of Zeiss binoculars back to Zeiss to fix a broken strap. Wrote them a letter and explain that I'd be happy to pay for a new strap. Got the binocs back in about 10 days by 2nd Day Air and no charge. Now that is great customer service. My next scope will be the Conquest.
