Hey guys!
Which WWII bolt action rifle do you like the best?
Springfield 03, Mauser KAR98k, or Mosin Nagant?

Hey Guys,
I moved this to the Military Rifles & Cartridges Forum. Figured it might be a better fit here.

My preferences are the '98 Mausers: German Kar98k, Czech VZ-24, Polish 98/29 or the Belgian Model 52. All the best...

Springfield is an American classic, but also the most expensive!! The Mauser is in my opinion the best looking, and very good quality, but the ammunition is not as readily available as the .30-06. The Mosin Nagant is the most affordable to buy and shoot. I guess each individual has to look at the good and bad and determine for themselves which is best.
I just bought a Mosin Nagant, and I am itching to shoot it!! My reason for buying it?? (I'm cheap)
See ya

I like them all!! I have all mentioned so far and some others. Have to admit bought a couple 98k's a while back and the actions are really smooth and they have great bores and put cheap turkish surplus inside 1.5" at 100. What more can I ask for? I also like the darn Enfields and Nagants. I just got a Swiss K-31 that shoots real well and that straight pull is real neat. My 03A3 is a nice gun too, not quite as smooth as the Mausers.

Well the Springfield M1903 and K98s are my favorites. I'd lump the two together since the US Government paid $1million in royalties to produce the slightly modified 98 to Mauser. Also shoot the Mosin-Nagants, M93, M96 Mausers and have a Jap 6.5mm Asaiski (sp). For tjhe semis my favorites are the M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, G43 and MP44.

I like the Mausers a lot. The Swede is a really accurate round and rifle combination. And there are so many models to choose from.
But the Mosin Nagant, especially the Finn M39, is no slouch either. ;)
Don't have the Swiss yet, :o but that K31 looks like fun.
Having the C&R is a mixed blessing. The cost of any one firearm is usually less, but the total of all of them in the safe is a LOT more that SWMBO wanted me to spend. :D
