Anyone use this .22? What has been your experience with it?

Thanks,
Rob

Yes, it' s a nice rifle. Extra light weight helps for women or kids.

Is there anything specific you'd like to know?

I was wondering if it is very accurate? How well does it function? Does it jam much? Etc..
It looks like it would be fun to shoot and good for rabbits and other small game.

No jams or misfeeds. The gun HAS to have hi-vel ammo, else it won't lock open on an empty mag. Then, when it gets several hundred rounds through it, that becomes an issue even with the hi-vel. Still, neither the Ruger, nor the Remmie, have this feature at ALL.

The trigger was QUITE heavy OTB, bottoming out my 6lb. RCBS fish..er..uh trigger scale, and then some. Still, I managed to get 1/2" groups at the 25yd. line. Keep in mind, it's a bit awkward to benchrest, as there's no forend to rest on the bag. So, I put the forward sling swivel nut on the edge of a block for support, or grip that area with my hand. Now, I've got the trigger down to under 3lbs. with full disconnector function safety intact. Soon, I'll begin the search for it's favorite ammo.

One annoying feature is the stock sights. A useless semi-buckhorn rear as is common with their rifles, and a bright orange plastic front blade. To top it off, the blade is a bit loose in the base, and you can't really stake down plastic. I'll probably just keep a cheap 4X on it anyway, and not worry about a permanent fix.

It's neat though to see other range members watch me assemble the rifle and wonder what it's all about.

Thanks for the reply, VictorLouis,

I guess the biggest drawback is the trigger, but that can be dealt with.
Speaking of sights, I wonder what it would be like with a red dot scope on it? My dad-in-law has one on his .357mag hand gun. I love shooting it.

Thanks again,
Rob

My buddy shoots better with a 1" red-dot than he does with most scopes. It'd look really good on the compact rifle, I suspect.

I am looking for ten round mags for the Marlin Papoose. Does anyone know of an online store that carries these? Please send email to rdlh@cox.net
