I have an Ashley outdoors Scout scope mount for my 1895 and I was wandering if I could use my 30mm pistol scope for a scout scope. The eye relief seems about right and the 30mm has a reasonable field of view. I don't care how it looks if it works and in fact it might be small enough to be handy. Has any of you fellows had an experience with this setup?

As long as the objective and the eye lens bells will clear the mount and barrel, you will be fine.

Mine has a Burris 2x7 pistol scope with 38mm bells and mounted in low Burris "Z" rings which barely clears the rear bell and mount. Works great.
