I'm changing to .45 Colt for my cowboy action shooting, from .44. I've got a 1894 .45colt CB Comp. on layaway, and have only one .45 pistol I want to keep, so I need to walk out with a rifle and pistol in .45 colt.
Here's the problem, my Marlin .44 is the 26 inch CBII limited, octagonal barrel, and is a sweet shooter. The Marlin .45 comp. is a 20 inch octag barrel, so the sight line is much less, but the action is buttery smooth.
My stainless Ruger Vaquero .44, 3 inch Uberti sheriff's model, aforementioned .44 Marlin, and a 336 Marlin AW 30/30 are all on the trading block. Which would you trade and which would you keep no matter what. My .35 Remington takes care of all my rifle needs, so that's not an issue.
Advice, comments, and suggestions all considered.

Since it sounds like you are trading for CASS activities I would just trade to what I wanted for that. Just realize, when you trade a shooter you may not get a shooter in return. Being a person who shoots for accuracy and hunting purposes I have learned you never trade a shooter, and if a gun is shooting accurately you never change anything about the gun.

The good ones are out there but they are hard to come by.

If I had anything in 45, I'd be trying to trade you out of your Marlin and Ruger. What's the barrel length on the Vaquero?

Hopefully the Marlin .45 comp. will be as good a shooter as my .44, as it got traded today, along with my Ruger, the Uberti 3inch, and an old Marlin 30/30.
Walked out with the Cowboy comp. and a Baretta Stampede, nickel plated .45 with a 5 inch barrel.
