I have jamming (stovepiping) problems with my Ruger 10/22 magnum. Two gunsmiths and Ruger worked on it and still have the problem.
Is this gun a "lemon?"
Ruger installed a new and supposedly better extractor. I thought they'd get the job done, but they didn't.
The 22 rimfire magnum must pose some significant problems for gun builders. They were a long time in getting this cartridge into a semi-auto. Anybody know about this?

I doubt the gun is a lemon, but you might try another brand of ammunition. I have an AMT Auto Mag II, and could not get it to stop jamming, Upon contacting the factory I found out that CCI makes their cases too soft, and they do not release from the chamber walls quick enough. I switched to Winchester and fedral and have not had another jam since. Now I save my CCI ammo for my Rossi Pump, and use either Winchester or Fedral in the AMT. Another factor could be a recoil spring that is too strong, or a chamber that needs polishing, so it will release the fired case sooner.

I've used the 10/22 about 5 times...and 1 time it jammed on me a few times. I don't know if it was the gun, magazine, or ammo, but it was pretty annoying. I doubt it was the ammo because I was using Winchester super-x.

I've found that the10-22mag needs to have the chamber cleaned out on a regular basis. i had a problem with hang-ups. I bought a Bore Smake and make a pass though the barrel every 15 or 20 rounds. Haven't had any problems since. I use WW ammunition.
