I dont think the Romainian is nessesarily a "pice of junk". The drawbacks I have noticed is. Some A.K.s have a frozen front sight (the reason why I got the Ultimak). The Romainian also has a "trigger slap". If I do alot of shooting, I wear a Neoprean glove. The trigger isnt nearly up to my normal standards, so using a glove isnt that much a bother. The quality of craftsmenship varies from each individual Romainian, so its a good Idea to look around before puting $ down. I payed $350 for mine, I think its a great A.K., compared with freinds that payed up to $150 more for theirs:D!
Honestly, I would rather have a A.R. varmint gun. But, you get what you pay for.
