I am replacing firing pin in a ped.RB. Is there ant way to heat treat firing pin to strengthen? I know the Italian metal is softer, but gun shoots great,if I can keep a firing pin in it.

IF the pin is breaking, this it is not becasue it's soft...may be becasue it's too hard. Soft would just bend and peen over.

RB are not good about dry-fire...that's a big hammer (including the roatating section inside the action, it's a lot of moving weight) smacking into that pin...and the pin has a step-down to a small diameter tip...and that step down isn't as nicely radiused as I'd like (sharp edges consentrate stress). On a guess, that's where it broke, the front "tip" flying out the barrel.
