I live out in the country and I was out mowing my yard the other day when a stranger drove by and ran over a rabbit on the road in front of my house. He slammed on his brakes and stopped, got out and went back to look at the squished rabbit. He seemed very upset about it, pacing back and force, holding his head in anguish. I thought, “Big Deal—Road Kill”. I noticed he went back to his car and got a spray can of something out of his trunk and went back to the rabbit and sprayed the rabbit with the can. The rabbit had his guts splattered all over the road and I wondered what on earth he was doing, so I got off my riding mower and went over to get a better view. Well, after he sprayed the rabbit I noticed one of the hind legs started to twitch. Well, the man shook the can again and really doused the rabbit. I couldn’t believe my eyes. That rabbit jumped up, shook itself, kind of reared up on its hind legs and looked like it waved at the man with one of its front paws. The rabbit hopped over to the side of the road, stopped, turned around, reared up on its hind legs and “waved” again. It then turned around and hopped off into the pasture across the road as if nothing had ever happened.
Well, if that didn’t beat all—that rabbit had been splattered all over the road and I saw it get up and run off as if nothing ever happened after the stranger had sprayed him with whatever was in the can he had gotten out of the back of his car. So I had to go over to him and ask him what he had sprayed on the rabbit that had “brought it back to life”. He explained he was a traveling salesman and he sold beauty supplies to hair dressers. He had sprayed the rabbit with a new product he was selling called “Hare Revivor with a Permanent Wave”.
