Has anyone used the Meacham T&H straight line easy seater die for bullet seating? Any pros or cons??

Hi ombesb,
I waited several days to see if anyone could reply to your question and since it seems as no one has experience with the 'Meacham T&H' seater die I thought I might point you in another direction.
I have "GMW-Vickerman" Seating dies for my 45/70 and .444.
Bob Gemmell owner of GMW Machine Shop bought the rights to the Vickerman seating dies and offers to make them in most calibers.
They are an "in-line" die and they are 'dead on' in seating the bullet straight into the case.
I had been struggling trying to get a perfect seating of the bullets in these two straight wall cases until I heard of and then purchased the 'GMW-Vickerman's'.
Bob is a really good guy to work with and is quick to answer any questons via e-mail or telephone, much like Gayle is of BTB - - - not like some 'crotchity' old Moose Hunters can be :o)
Bob's e-mail address is: bgemmell@bmi.net - -phone number: 509 382 4159 this is up in Dayton Washington.
There is a web page that gives a little information: www.castingstuff.com
Sorry I had no information on the Meacham, but if you are looking for perfectly straight seating I recomend the GMW-Vickerman pretty highly.

Thanks Fletch I will contact and see what he has. Are those micrometer adj. tops?? Wonder how they compare to Reddings seaters? (other than costing a whole lot less)

Hi again ombesb,
The GMW Vickerman does not have micrometer adj. tops. They are a bolt head that looks pretty 'rough' for adjusting, but in my use of them they stay "on size" once you set them and tighten down the lock nut - - in fact they stay "on size" better than my seating dies with Hornady micrometer adj. tops that I use on bottle kneck calibers.
I paid $65.00 for each of them, but you can just buy one body and then get different "internals" and shell holders for $35.00 per caliber, at least that is what they were when I bought.
My main goal was to get a die that put the bullet in 'dead on straight' in big straight walled cases and these have done that perfectly.
Good luck and good shootin',
