Hi all, This is my first post and I just wanted to say hi. I just purchased a Marlin 336 lever action 30/30 today used off a guy who claims he won it last year and shot less than a box of rounds through it. It has a walnut stock and is in excellent shape with a Simmons 3 x 9 scope. I got it for $ 250.00. I think I got a great deal. What do you think?

Hotshot,

I think you did just fine. The 336W sells new for $279 plus tax at Wally World. Your rifle also has rings and bases and a scope which could cost another $150 up. You done good IMHO. Shoot that thing now! You will most likely have to try several types of factory ammo in 150 gr and 170 gr. Mine likes the Hornady 170 gr. the best.

Dave :p

I have the same simmons scope on another rifle and I know it retails for around $69.00 for the scope not counting rings and base. I wasn't in the market for a rifle but couldn't pass up such a fine opportunity
