This report from my son came in today from Baghdad Iraq,

Ya it was a crazy day of IED's yesterday...like 18 IED's in baghdad. We
responded to one as QRF and spotted another about 1000 meters down the road from where the 1st went off...blocked the highway off and EOD came in and blew it. Then this morning when i was outside taking a piss explosions started all around...i came out of the porta potty and saw one big explosion about 100 yards away...it was an early morning rocket attack. We got hit with like 6 or 7 rockets....

So then i went to the board and aced it...so now im getting ready for the
Brigade soldier of the quarter in 2 days...if i win that ill get a medal and
go on to division soldier of the quarter...etc...well see how i do. It was
kind of a last minute thing...but i won...so its good of course...
ill be home soon....

He received soldier of the quarter from his company, and in 21 days will be rotating out. Back to Germany and then home on leave in May sometime.

We are proud but will be very glad to have him out of there.

Thanks Ranch Dog, with the craziness that is going on right now I just hope he gets out of their on schedule. Got this last night so I know he wasn't one of the 8 killed in Baghdad yesterday.

Ya, interesting day again yesterday....lots of **** going on around
here.....i spent all last evening and night camped out atop an iraqi police
station near Sadr city....we were waiting for an attack...as a lot of police
stations were overrun yesterday....the craziness continues....but i am
well.....see ya later...

It's very hard to stay non-political, but please tell your son that we are all pulling for our troops.
The USA can not have enough good men and women like there are now serving over seas.

This is too important of an issue, but I know that good will prevail.

He's in our prayers.
Tell him to keep his head down and kick their xxxxx.
