Greetigns,
I've been a fan of the NEF single shot shotguns for years. Right now I'm looking into getting a NEF Ultra Rifle in .223 rem. I plan to get a 30-06 and 20 ga barrels for it as well.
I'm a left handed shooter... Is that monte carlo stock scooped out on one side? When I go to the NEF website I can only see pictures of one side of the stock.
Thanks,
CanoeDude.

I seriously doubt they make a stock just for righties. It's probably pretty straight on both sides. I have never seen listings for left or right hand stocks for NEF or H&R rifles in the parts catalogs. May I suggest you go to a gun shop and look at one of the rifles with the monte carlo stock to see how it fits you. I don't have a monte carlo stock on my Handi-Rifle but I did get a 28 gauge barrel fitted to my .22 Hornet rifle. I think it makes a great pair.

yeah, I've been to several different gun shops in the area and none of them have the ultra rifle in stock. I've seen a few Handi-Rifles but they don't have the monte carlo stock.
I stopped at Gander Mountain (they're a NEF dealer) and the guy in the gun department tells me that that monte carlo stock on the NEF ultra rifle is scooped out on one side. I don't believe him.
I decided to go to a gun shop in the neighboring town. Gander mountain just lost a sale because their gun guy does not know what he's talking about. The NEF Ultra Rifle in .223 was 249$ at gander mountain. It's 269$ at my local gun shop. I decided to get it from my local gun shop.

I have an H&R Ultra in .223, and the monte-carlo stock is symmetric. The only thing you have to change as a lefty is to put the trigger extension on the other side (assuming you're using a scope). I also have a .17HMR with the synthetic stock, and it's the same.
