I Have A Cimmaron 73 Rifle And Would Like To Make The Appearance Look Like An Old Firearm.
Is There A Procedure And Chemical Formula For Doing This.

Since Cimmaron offers an "antique" finish for some of their pistol models, you might want to call them directly and see what they recommend. On thing you don'twant to do is strip off the present finish, blueing or otherwise, and get any rust started, so be careful whatever you do. You may be able to send in part to be refinished to obtain the loook you are after, and check your area to see if there's an authorized Cimmaron dealer and gunsmith. If all else fails, maybe some cold blueing without leaving the solution on as long as recommended may work as well.I Have A Cimmaron 73 Rifle And Would Like To Make The Appearance Look Like An Old Firearm.

You may want to post this on the cowboy shooting forum here, as someone may have already done what you are wanting and has perfected the technique.

Not sure what you mean by "look like an old firearm". If you mean antique brass, your local metal plating shop can do that for you. Case harden look can be done by the manufacturer or any good gunsmith.

I wouldn’t try it on your Cimmaron Rifle. They are just to fine of a Rifle to mess with. You may even bring down it’s value. I would call the company and ask if you just have to. I have been told that they are one of the nicest Winchester clones on the market. I may buy one in the future in 45 Colt.
