View Full Version : Winchester 190 was jamming
I recently purchased a Winchester model 190 at a pawn shop for $60 + a free gun sleeve. When I tried to shoot it, it would jam about every shot. The trigger housing was cleaned very thoroughly... A couple modifications (looked at a newer one) were made. Still jammed almost every time. It turns out, that whoever took it to the pawn shop, had loosened the barrel nut, and didn't tighten it back up. So, the barrel wasn't fully seated...
Took it to the range Saturday, and didn't have any problems after 150 rounds. Had it out about a week ago - 60 rounds no problem.

I also just acquired my brothers 190 - looks like it has never been cleaned. I have it pretty much apart except I cant seem to separate the barrel from the receiver - any ideas?
Obviously I dont have the manual.
Thanks for any help.
