Gentlemen,

For those of you who have read my woes with the Simmons Whitetail Expedition 3.5x12x42 AO rifle scopes know the story on this site. In a nutshell I sent both two month old scopes back to Simmons with a formal letter explaining how the reticle springs were too weak to hold a boresight on a 250 pound boar for my son and I.

Since the Simmons Warranty Tech had recommended a Weaver Grand Slam for the much stonger reticle springs I asked for ONE Weaver Grand Slam in exchange for the two Simmons scopes. Seemed like a fair trade to me. One Simmons $114.95 and Weaver Grand Slam 4x14x40 AO $369.00.

Well guess what the good folks at Simmons went and did for me and my son. Yup. You guessed it.

They sent us TWO brand new in the box Weaver Grand Slams in 4.5x14x40 AO.

Even though we never did get our boar out of the swamp I am grateful that we now have two fairly well rated rifle scopes. I have mounted mine on my Weatherby 30-06 with integral Weaver see thru steel mounts and rings. Very nice fit, form, and finish so far.

We are still waiting on the 2004 catalog at Wally World for a new 700ADL Youth in 30-06 for Michael. His Weaver should be a nice compliment.

Miracles never cease gentlemen and perhaps my letter to Simmons detailing our boresight and hunting woes after some 4x4 off road time must have sparked someone's soul.

I am thankful that the people at Weaver/Simmons have far exceeded any expectations I ever had. Thank you.

May you all have a blessed and spirit filled Easter,

JP
