I cannot figure out how to get the forearm off my '94. It is a 1919 manufacture in .30WCF.

I have found some disassembly info. on here, and a link by DLS before and have figured out action parts etc. but this forearm has me stumped.

There is no barrel band, but a cap on the end. This comes off easily. The screw in the magazine cap comes out nice, but there is another small band dove tailed in close to there. Also where the cap attaches is a dovetailed in piece that the forearm cannot slide past.

Hopefully I am making some sense.
any help?

See the small roll pin in the front hanger? That pin must be pushed out, so you can remove the magazine tube (you do not have to remove the hanger itself). The forearm hanger does not need to come out, remove the magazine tube and the forearm stock will drop down an out.

Great pictures by the way.

thanks DLS.

That makes good sense, I was thinking the whole thing slid off along the barrel-had it all backwards!

That is a nice old rifle isn't it? It has turned into my main freezer filler.

Yes, sir it is a very nice old girl!
I have one similar, bluing is not nearly as nice as yours though and octagon barreled made in 1911.

I do like octagon barrels!!

Hey, that came apart slick as could be. Now that I know I'll take it apart more often. I expected to find some rust and such-was a bit worried. But it was just two small patches of surface rust and they wiped clean. A bit of gunk in a few areas but no big deal.

It has been taken good care of, I have had it only 5 years. It was my Great-Grandfathers, Grandpa gave it to me as he was worried about the new firearm laws and did not shoot it anymore. I was happy to take a couple animals with it before he passed on, he was glad of that.

I thought of putting a peep on the rear with a front globe, but I can hit anything I aim at with the original sights so why waste the money?

Really, your Great-grandfathers? Nice!
Even more reason to cherish the ol Winny! Happy to hear you're planning on leaving it original, it's a beauty the way it is.

Glad I could be of some small help to you sir.

you bet, and I'll not ever sell the old thing. My original idea was to put a globe in the front dove tail and a tang mounted peep so nothing would be altered. That way originallity could be kept.

But like I say, I soon found it to shoot well enough with the original sights. So it will stay that way.

thanks again

I see what you're saying now sir, the sight setup would be very nice indeed, especially since no alterations to the gun would be called for.
