WOW! I just threw a Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40 Ballistic Plex scope on my .308, and the ballistic graduations on the scope are dead on. It came with instructions for a 150gr bullet, but with a little time and calculation it was cake to calibrate for my 168gr Sierra HPBT that I load. I did a lot of debating before I chose Burris over Leupold, and they are pretty darn comparable. In the end it just came down to price (which was pretty comparable too) and the ballistic plex option. I'm only 18, but I've had my fair share of scopes, and I give the scope two thumbs up. Can't say enough about the scope.

Yeah, I've got one on my M70 .30-06, and it's nice. Burris is an underrated scope manufacturer, but I've got 8 of them on various rifles and handguns, and can't say enough good things about them.

I have a Pentax with an illuminated B-Plex that I am putting on a .260 REM. I'm going to compare it to the Kahles and Swarovski TDS and the Leupold Boone and Crockett.
I have been using a Burris Black Diamond with the Ballistic Mil-Dot on my 7mm Laredo for Long Range Hunting to extreme pleasure. I finally got a box of Nosler Accubonds to load-up and try.
I will post my findings when the wind dies down and I have a nice day to shoot.

I decided I wanted to put a 3-9 on my old VZ-24 so I went down to the gunstore on a Thursday night to compare. Thursday night because that's when Ken runs it and I trust him more than anyone else. No mail order because 1, Ron prices his stuff competatively and 2, I can actually compare them side-by-side.
From my reading, I liked the features of the Burris better but Ken recommended the Leupold. I dropped the Burris into mounts and found an excellant scope. I pulled the Burris out and dropped in the Leupold and found the Leupold kept the eye relief much more nearly the same in zooming from three to nine power. That was all; I could easily forego the Burris' extra features for the marginally better clarity and the much better eye relief.

Mounted a Burris Fullfield II 4.5X-14X-42mm on a Cooper LVT 17HMR last year. liked it, so this year put a Burris Signature Select 4X-16X-44mm on a 700 Rem.LS 221 Fireball. The additional cross bars work well when shooting Prairie Dogs.

Here is a good deal:
www.theopticzone.com is offering the Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40 Ballistic Plex scope with matt finish for $199.00. The boot offered is a 20 x 50 Burris Compact Spotting Scope included free. I have seen this promo deal other places, but The Optic Zone gave me great service. I wish I needed a new scope, but i bought a Fullfield II 3-9 last year. Impressive product for the price.

I am thinking about a burris ff II for my 7mm Mag. I want it with the ballistic plex reticle and it sounds like a good deal. But im also considering the LRS lighted reticles. Anyone have any experience with those in a burris or a ff II? For pig hunting in the summer for pigs at my home in Bakersfield, the pigs get fairly nocturnal and for those early early mornings I think it would be nice for a dark colored pig, but I have no experience with these, this scope is for my rifle now and for my dream rifle I hope to get (Kimber 8400 Montana in 300 WSM) and want it to last, any opinions? Im debating if I really need a 4-14x or just a 3-9, opinions on that would be nice too. I think a higher than 9x might be nice for coyotes at 300 or maybe longer. They are pretty wiley in the open terrain on the ranches I'd be hunting on.

In one of John Wayne's cowboy movies he said "Never apologize. It's a sign of weakness". Well, an apology to Burris from me is in order.
I just deleted a post on this thread wherein I trashed a Burris FFII 3-9x40 scope. In that post I indicated that I was having difficulties in focusing both the cross hairs and the image. I showed the scope to two of my friends and they both told me to go to the eye doctor. They found nothing wrong with it.
I am 61 years old, in good health and thought my eyesight was fair to good. I was wrong. Evidently, my eyesight is much worse than I thought. There is nothing wrong with the Burris scope.
Therefore Burris, please accept my apology.
