Gentlemen

Has anyone mounted an intermediate eye relief scope on the factory mounts and managed to get the back of the scope even with the back of the barrel? This would allow low rings to be used as the scope would be ahead of the hammer.
Please post details and pictures if you have them.

Note: This is about using "Shotgun" scopes with about 6" of eye relief - not Scout Scopes.

This is a good idea that should work well on the NEF singles. I have applied it to my Marlin 1895G in a scope mount of my design. My scope is the Burris Compact XER 1-4x with 7 inches of eye relief. Here's a picture:
