Hi guys,
An uncle of mine has an Agawam Arms single shot .22 cal. rifle, and he wants to know what might be the current value of that strange piece of atillery. It works fine. One more thing to know is what is the receiver made of. It looks like aluminum, but is feels heavier and stronger than that. Wish some one around has some info about it. My perception is that it's a nice rabbit gun for those who like to walk a lot.

OK GUYS, I'LL MAKE IT EASIER FOR YOU. IT'S QUITE THE SAME GUN AS THE "ITHACA 49" .22 CAL STANDARD MODEL, KNOWN AS SADDLEGUN. I GUESS ITHACA BOUGHT THE PATENT, OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

I also have an Agawam Arms single shot .22 cal. rifle. Did you ever find out anything about it?

Oh, that's good. I bought that rifle from my uncle for my son. It's handy though. I was wrong when I said that the Agawam 68 was a replica from the Ithaca 49. It is a replica (or maybe the "father") of the Stevens Model 89, or viceversa. Most of the parts from a Stevens 89 fit an Agawam 68. I found that it was a short time production. And that it took it's brand form the name of town where it was been made. Not much info available, but if sometime you need parts, go to www.e-gunparts.com (Numrich) and you will find almost everuthing for it. It's a nice old style looking gun, light and short. It fits anywhere in the ATV, Jeep, or horse, hehehe. Hope it helps.
