I might have made a mistake. I just bought a Nikon Prostaff scope 4x32. When I got home I relized that that it was a rimfire scope. DARN! I checked in Midway catalog and it says that its shockproof, but the manufactures website doesnt mention it. My problem is that I want to mount it on my 45-70. Is this going to destroy the scope? Hence should I return it and get something else?

Best contact the manufacturer on that... you never know. Rimfire scopes are probably focused at a shorter distance; may be just as tough or may not be, you never know.
