This "big shot" New York attorney decided he would like something to brag about at meetings and business lunches, so he decided to go brown bear hunting on Kodiak Island. He wanted to kill the biggest bear he could for bragging rights.He looked down on the locals in Alaska , but he knew he would need a guide, so he reluctantly hired a fellow. During the hunt he was very snobby-acting to his guide and rude on occasion. He didn't want to talk or be friendly and often scoffed at the guide's advice. As the days went by in the wilderness, they went farther and farther away from civilization. The guide just put up with the jerk because he needed the money. One day they were stalking a particularly large bear, and the attorney looked down and noticed that the guide had on what looked like black Reebok running shoes. He couldn't hold his smart aleck remarks and he asked, " Are those running shoes?" To which the guide replied, "Yes, Reeboks". Laughing out loud the attorney said "You are an idiot if you think you can outrun a brown bear!" The guide said, "I don't have to; I just have to outrun YOU."
