I just got a High Standard "the Victor" made in Hamdan ,Conn. Its in very good shape. Two original magazines. The ser. # is ML20512. I think it was made around 1973 from the info I got???? What is a good 22 shell to use in this pistol???? I tried Winchester Super X but had a few feeding jams! Any info. or web sites to give me info would be of help. I also need info on how to take it down???? Thanks ,Jeff

As You can see, It's a 5 1/2 " Steel vented rib . Whats it "WORTH" ?????

The first gun made in East Hartford was ML25000 (a 5.5" Victor) in 1977, so yours, I would guess, was made early in '76.
The Victor 10-x (Houston) that I have just started shooting was tuned for Eley ammunition. It will shoot Rem Target pretty well and Remington Eley. It does not like CCI Pistol Match or Green Tag. I did try some Win T-22 and it functioned well. I have it nearly broken in with about 650 rnds through it now. www.highstandard.com has a page that details instructions for adjusting the magazines.
To break down for cleaning, lock the slide open. Remove the barrel by pressing the button below the barrel to the rear and lifting the barrel straight up.

Assuming you don't have the original box and docs, $500. would be about the limit for me for a Hamden ML. Typically, a Hamden ML is worth about 10% more than a East Hartford ML which is worth about 15% more than an SH. Earlier models have greater value and, of course, there are model variations to consider.
