I got a good deal on a LeFever Nitro Special side by side 12 gauge a couple of years ago, (according to listed prices in the Gun Trader's guide).

It's in good shape, shoots well & carries easy.

I actually went with the intention of buying a Stevens 311 I had seen there earlier, but I jumped at the LeFever whan I saw it.

Does anybody have any experiences with the Nitro Special? I'd like to hear some other perspectives.

i rebuild one for my dad about 10 years ago,he had his stolen for him when i was a kid.the barrels are soft soldered so i had to slow rust blue them,i recut the engraving on it,had to make a butt stock(that cost me 19 stiches)drove a punch it to my hand, all in all it turned out good,he hunts with it still,30 inch barrels,12 gauge, quick pointer well ballanced,i would do it again but with out the stiches this time.i am rebuilding a 311 for me,the lefever seams lighter and has sleaker lines, the 311 cost 175.00 so i had to do it.
