Maybe I should rephase the question to "which gunsmith have you had the best experience with?"

I guess it is probably just my luck, but it seems every gun smith I've ever gone to is a cranky duffer who can think of more reasons why he can't do the job than accepting the job in workman-like way.
Winchester (U.S. Repeating Arms Co.), refers their customers to Nu-Line Guns in Missouri. They are online. I have a gun up there now. Time will tell as to how they do. Don't come to Phoenix if you need a gunsmith! They are all too busy, too specialized, or just too surly to do the job.

gunslinger387,
I sent my Rossi to:
Mike at;
M&M Gunsmithing
204 S. Union St.
Alexandria, VA 22314
Phone: (703) 739-2150
Email: mandmgunsmithing@netzero.com
He did very good work for a reasonable price and has advised me on several other things since then.
