I just bought one of Winchester's 1892 reissues by Miroku, Japan. Does the "1 in 500" statement mean 500 made in each caliber, or that 500 total 1892's were made? Neither the brochure with the gun nor the dealer were clear on this. I was surprised at the number of these that the dealer had, since it is no longer manufacturered. They had at least two in .357 alone (which is the caliber I bought). A beautifully crafted gun.

I found my answer on the Davidson site. There were 500 made in each caliber.
