After the demise of the Marlin Talk at the Marlin web site, I kind of went into withdraw. I love my Marlin 1894 Cowboy in .357 Mag, and it's nice to see some familiar handles from the old Marlin site. So, on to business . . .

I just discovered a nice plinking load for my .357: 4 grains of Titegroup pushing a Hornady 158 gr. SWC. No recoil, very accurate. That Titegroup is great stuff!

Good to see you here Mykal! Most of us are scattered all about. Since it has turned warm several of us haven't been posting much though, me included. I'm glad to see someone trying out the lighter loads in their .357's. I too am fond of my light lead loads as well, which consist of 4grs of Bullseye. I just might have to try some Tightgroup. I keep hearing good success of others using it with the lead loads. Again, good to see you here!:D

Howdy, Mykal, where ya been? We missed ya.

I pretty much live at this site, I also love the Graybeard Outdoors site, and Pistolsmith.com, but I think this one is my favorite. Lots of familiar names, and plenty of new (to me) gunfolk. Plenty of wisdom, the usual scattering of smart-alecks, and the occasional sage. (Like Me!)

Hey Carwi, I gave up on Bullseye years ago for AA powders. I think you'll really like Titegroup as well, lots cleaner! I am hearing great things about L'il Gun, you tried it yet?

Sorry for the late response, guys. Anyway, thanks for the responses. Yep, I continue to like Titegroup (works well in my Smith 4 inch 686, too with the same bullet: 158 gr rnfp) before I was having pretty good success withe Bullseye - about 8.6 gr. I like the titegroup better, though. I think it is a little cleaner and I get better accuracy with it. It's great to be back among Marlin lovers! --Mykal

Mykal, Are you sure you mean 8.6 gr. of bullseye in a 357 mag. case. this is about double the max load for a 158gr. bullet. Caution this load is not safe!!!!! Byron
