I've got a nice set of stag grips for my Colt New Service...The problem is that the guy I got them from (honest) apparently tightened the grip screw too much and the escutcheon started to pull through the grip causing a bulge on the inside part of the grip. Any idea how to fix this, or where to send it to be fixed???? I don't want to take a chance on putting it on the gun and having it pull all the way through.....

Just get you a set of small files and file the hump down, BUT BE CAREFUL not to take too much off. The best way is to take off a little at a time. And when you put the grips back on be real careful not to tighten the screw too much.

I thought about that...and the hump isn't that big, the grips fit fine now even with the hump...I'm just worried about the escutcheon pulling out more even if I don't tighten the screw much....what about a drop or two of crazy glue in there to set it??? Also...I don't even have a grip screw....didn't come with the grips...What's a good source for one??? Don't have a screw for the stock rubber grips either....I got a supposed set of "new old stock" rubber grips that DO have a hump that will need to be filed in order to fit. I also have to enlarge the hole in the lower part of one grip that the indexing pin fits into....Not sure if it's worth all the trouble since the timing on the gun is pretty bad, BUT that stag grips are very nice....
