Help! I Need some good direction from you more experienced shooters. When sighting in a scoped rifle, do I adjust the Up/Down, Left/Right screws to move the cross hairs to the point of impact? Or do I adjust them as if I am moving the point of impact to the crosshairs? I am wasting an awful lot of ammunition chasing the zero with one method or the other. So, which is the actual way to do this sighting-in business?
Thanks for your help and comments.

When actually shooting, move the scope's adjustments in the direction you want the bullets to go. IF the impact is to the left, adjust the clicks in the direction marked "R" on the knob.
Settle down and relax...if the group is on the paper, even if well away from the aim point, can still fire for group (that way, the ammo isn't "wasted")...then adjust for the group center. Never adjust on the basis of one shot. Get it "on" at close range, then adjust a the longer range.

If you happen to have access to a gun vice or can keep your gun stable (so it doesn't move) while adjusting it, here's the trick for a one-shot zero.
#1: Shoot one shot, aimed at the correct point-of-aim.
#2: Make certain the crosshairs are still on the point-of-aim.
#3: Adjust the crosshairs to where they cover the bullet hole.
#4: Verify with a three-shot group. If the centroid of the three shots is off, go back to step #2.
Repeat as necessary.
