I bought a 5" Taurus Raging Bull revolver a while back. I really like the accuracy and quality of the revolver, but I've yet to be able to find a decent BELT holster for the piece. Does anyone have any info on a maker(s) of a belt holster for this revolver? I prefer a quality leather holster, but I'm getting a little desperate and am considering having one made by a custom maker.

A big part of buying the shorter barrel was so it could be worn on the belt, and avoid the complications with other outdoor gear (backpacks) that can arise.

Aside from having one made custom, which I'm beginning to feel is my only option, I don't see a holster for a 5" Raging Bull on any of those websites. Could be I didn't look hard enough...would be nice if all the holster makers listed products that they have available and what handguns they will accomodate in a easy to use format. Some of them do, most of them don't. I can't think of another handgun that would cross fit with the RB unless it's a 5" N-frame S&W. A decent belt holster that would fit a 5" full underlug barrel might do the trick, but my M29 Classic Hunter seems a little "small" next to the RB, despite having the full underlug 8 3/8" barrel.

Call Steve at Rafter S Gunleather, he should be able to set you up at a reasonable price. I got an IWB in sharkskin for my XD...sweeeet. And so is the belt. They're good people to work with.

I'm saving up for something in alligator. If I keep growing in the same direction, I'll need a new belt pretty soon.

On the first link I found one in 3 different types of leather and color for a 5.5 inch barrel. It's listed under the S&W model 629...should work just fine even though your barrel is only 5 inches.

My concern with the N-frame holsters is that the barrel on a RB is HUGE. I'll give a call to a few of the makers that interest me and see if they can offer any advice as to whether or not the piece will fit in their leather.
