i WOULD CETAINLY SAY THE LBT STYLE LFN/WFN BULLETS HAVE DONE MUCH FOR HANDGUN HUNTING. I HAVE HAD POOR RESULTS WITH JSP'S FOR DEER HUNTING. THE LBT/KIETH DESIGN BULLETS ARE EXCELLENT! I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A 44 CAL 280-300 GR LFN MOLD, BUT I UNDERSTAND THAT
MR. SMITH ISN'T MAKING MOLDS???? I PREFER TO CAST MY OWN...I DO SEE SOME MFGRS SELLING LBT DESIGNS, THOUGH.
I'M SURE BOTH WERE INFLUENCED BY E. KIETH.

Yes, Rick, that is a good analogy. Veral's bullet designs took handgun hunting to the next level - both in terms of large meplats for better wound channels, and also long bullet noses that maximize powder space. Some of his designs feed better than the Keith SWC in repeating guns.
You can see proof of this in that the new Hodgdon "Annual Reloading Manual" (basically a reloading manual in a magazine format that is published by Shooting Times) now includes data specific for LBT-designed bullets (some from Beartooth as a matter of fact). This for at least the .45 Colt and also the .44 Mag.
Personally.... I got started in handgun hunting with Ross Seyfried wrote about Veral's work in Guns & Ammo. So it did have a big influence on me.
Veral's back in business, by the way... and several other comapnies make moulds for LBT-designed bullets.
