Hi all,
What is the advantage in using LDPE over card or veggie wads?

 I really can't answer your question. I try not to use anything in my blackpowder cartridge loads that did not exist before 1900, with the exception of non-corrosive primers, which can't be helped. Just a little something to do with the "spirit" of the game, you know ;) .

CBK,
Really none. All wad materials are used primarily to protect the base of the bullet during firing. Some guns are sensitive to which material is used so only you could determine which s best in your gun.
A card wad or a wad and grease wad were commonly used in military black powder ammunition to help reduce fouling, so this concept was around in the 19th century! What I have mostly seen is a thin wad cut from material like file folders are made from. A disk of beeswax was sandwiched between two of these card wads and is loaded under the bullet. The top card serves the function of keeping the beeswax from sticking to the bullet.
You didn't see these wads commonly in commercial ammunition because the user usually had the opportunity of wiping the bore every few shots where the military wanted to maintain accuracy for many shots.
