I know this is 1894 board, but the 336 Cowboy is more of a cowboy gun than a traditional 336, right? Anyway, I'd like your opinions on the 38-55. I really like the looks of this old cartridge and I have an itch to reload it. How's it shoot? How's the recoil with cast bullets? Thanks -- Mykal
Vary pleased with mine, one hole groups are possable. Vary light recoil with cast bullets (less than 30-30 trapper).

245 gn hard cast bullet over 8-9 gns of unique and it is a pleasure to shoot. Doing the same with a big dose of rifle powder and it is still manageable and not a hard kicker. With jacketed bullets and a stout load of RX7 it gets to pushing back at you, but is still friendly in the recoil dept.
