Each year I make a couple of trips to SE Colorado to hunt prairie dogs. I'd rather find a place closer to home (Central Texas). Does anyone know of places with huntable populations of p'dogs in either TX or NM?

Same here.... would love to shoot some pasture poodles without having to drive to Kansas! I know there is some national grassland in the Texas Panhandle, but that's still a long haul.....

It is a long haul, but not as long as KS and CO! I've heard there were colonies of p'dogs in the PanHandle region and out west of me, around El Dorado, but I've never been able to track anyone down who really knows the scoop. Hopefully we'll get a hit on this posting.
