I have a 9422 that years ago, the little snap ring keeper became damaged and I lost it. Looked at a parts cat. from Winchester and it (and they) claim it never had one. I know it did, because I remeber it being bent and then fell out and I couldn't find it.

If there are no bullets in the mag (thus no tension on it) the mag tube easily slides out. My 9422 Mag (earlier manufacture) has a differnt type of tube than the 9422 XTR.
