What do you mean by shooting a “50”?
50 caliber muzzle loader?
50 Action Express autoloading pistol?
500 S&W magnum revolver?
50 BMG rifle?
We have a yearly event in Southern California called the “Shooting Sports Fair”. All the manufacturers are there, displaying their wares. You could probably shoot every thing in the above list, except the muzzle loader. The event this year is soon, June 4,5 and 6. There are similar events in larger cities, around the country.
There are sporting goods stores/ ranges in Arizona that will let you shoot most anything they have- including fully automatic arms.

There is a local indoor range where you can rent .50 BMG rifles to shoot. They are located in Clearwater , Florida.

This weekend, and any Memorial Day weekend, in Anderson, Alaska.
They hold an annual machine gun shoot. Saturday is for competition, Sunday is a fun shoot.
Any legal firearm is welcome. They get EVERYTHING, from Barretts to water cooled machine guns.
They even get explosive demonstrations where someone blows up a car and other items.
Anderson, Alaska is a small town located some 80 miles down the Parks Highway from Fairbanks.
This is a fun weekend for shooting enthusiasts and those interested in trying out machine guns, 50 cals, or just about any kind of small arms.
PS Don't bring anything ILLEGAL. This event is well controlled by local authorities, who are all participants, and want to keep it going, year after year.
If you are looking for the Mayor, look behind one of the many mg's, having a blast..
