Hi all, well I thought I was going for a 1911 but no have an itch for a rifle that would shoot 357 handgun ammo. Was looking at a used Rossi at the range the other day but they wanted $350 for it. I thought that was a bit steep even tho it looked to be near 98%. Talked to a local mom and pop dealer on Firday and he said to check into the Marlin 1894. Said he could get me one with lifetime warranty from Davidsons for $400. What do you all think?? thanks, mack

The 1894C Marlin is a sweet little carbine. Accurate, quick handling, mild recoil and enough power for medium game at moderate distance. Add ammo that is cheap, cheap and you have the ultimate bumming around rifle. Get one. You won't regret it.

I love our .357 carbines that we have around here. One I've shot for two decades is a Rossi. Great guns, great companions, either in the woods or the sage.

Load 'em up, and load 'em down. They are sooooooo, verrrrrrry versatile. You won't be sorry.

A used Rossi should be available if you look for $250-$275 in nice shooting condition. It's really hard to hurt them except though willful abuse or neglect.

Get a .357 carbine and your other guns will get very lonely most of the year.

God Bless,
