I saw a post over on the Leverguns forum that Dean Grennell has died. I really enjoyed his writing.
Dean Grennell with his friends Dan Cotterman, P. O. Ackley and Homer Powley ran the American Reloaders association back in the 1960's. For pre-internet days it was heady stuff.
Grennell and Ken Waters were early boosters for high pressure .32 cartridges. You can see the .32 Magnum idea forming in thier writings.
There are so many ways that he contributed to this hobby. This a real loss.

Seems like all the good guys are fading away fast these days. A real loss.

Dean Grennell has a sense of humor...at least in his best days, and the urge to experiment in some odd directions...both of those traits seem lacking in today's writters...both will be missed.

Wasn't he prone to 'Silly Safaris' in his 'Gun World' mag?
I think he and some of the other guys who wrote at that mag also did some stunt work and work as extras for the movie TV industry.
He was a good fella.

Well we all have to die someday, but it is a great loss to loose any of the great gunners & writers of our error, I grew up reading there stories. God rest there souls, and may there be better hunting/shooting in the heavens. Aim small hit small. RAMbo.

Yes, Great reading.

Some years we have quite a number of grasshoppers. We go on "grass hopper safaris" with .38 Spl revolvers and wax bullets. If you let the hopper fly and watch where he lands you can generaly hit him by holding up all of the front sight.
Our ground is so hard in summer the wax bullets will ricochette on the hard ground and whiz off into the tall grass.
