I am curious about whether a seal type material under a slug would help prevent gas cutting, and the leading. I could get some teflon discs in the appropriate diameter for a penny each, the discs are .040" thick. I am using WW+2% tin for my alloy, and trying different lubes right now. I have beat the leading, but I want to use a bevel base bullet to make the bullet longer for the same weight. BP shooters use waxed or fiber wads, so it should work. What do you think? Greg

If you are talking about gas cutting, I must assume you are talking about blow by and or insufficient over-powder wad seal of your powder charge. I would suggest looking at some of the posts by Mr. Gates on the load construction for his awesome "Dixie Terminator" slugs. Mr. Gates begins each of his builds with a BPI "Overbore" gas seal over his powder. With the proper overpowder gas seal and correct wad selection, gas cutting of the slug should not occur. I don't fully know the properties of Teflon, but, heat and blast insulation don't seem like Teflon type properties. Teflon Wraps are a very current trend for slug loads. BPI makes a good case for their use in custom configurations. Again, Please refer to Mr. Gates posts for use of gas seals or contact BPI for their slug building manuals... Good luck rc
