These bears were taken on the Alaska Peninsula. Different hunters and different outfits.

This one squared 10'4" with a green score on the skull of 26 5/16"

This one, taken by a hunter from Missouri, squared 9' 4" with a green score of the skull of 26.1" (taken while hunting with Phil Shoemacker's outfit)

This one was taken near Perryville on the Peninsula, was described as well over 10' with a green score of the skull around 28".

Yup, I'd definitely say them's bigger than the critters we got around here! :eek:

S&W came out with a light revolver, 2" barrell, in .44 Mag to be carried as a 'Bear Gun'. I'd love to see the look on the faces of those who purchased one when they encountered one of these big bruins up close. Do you think they could even use it before they got swatted away like a little fly?

Thanks for the pic's. I'm so home sick. North Dakota isn't that bad but it isn't AK!!!! However, I will be able to entertain some Mule deer this fall. That will be new. I tend to make the best of every situation:)

I'd love to hunt Mule Deer someday. New experiences and new places to explore is always exciting. Good luck on the upcoming season and shoot a big 'un!
