My son called and there have been a lot of changes where he is currently at in Karbala. The first ten days every patrol was a firefight. The estimates of militia killed in those ten days was over four hundred, just in Karbala. Then their c130 gunship caught 84 foreign fighters trying to sneak into Karbala and killed them to a man. Next day all the militia were gone. They are, and I quote "bored" as their patrols are uneventfull and the people are out in the streets again and starting to rebuild. Has been that way for over a week. He also got to take the E-5 board and said he aced it so will be promoted in August when it is official. Last and best of all they have been told they will rotate out in July instead of August.

Great news Sure-Shot! I'm glad he's bored as long as he stays vigilant.

In that place, being bored is just fine. Hopefully it stays that way for a long time. Please tell you son that we do think about them daily and hope they're all home soon.

He is in our prayers. It's good to hear he's OK and bored, just as long as they stay vigilant.
