Ok, I call on EVERYONE HERE TO HELP PLEASE!!
I am currently trying to find some SAFE LEGAL places
to go and shoot at NON paper non traditional targets.
Also not glass, Will be Bigger items Used computer towers
Etc. All our Debris will be removed happily!

I have tried contacting the BLM (*Which we need a smilie BLM SUCKS)
their website is a monster of garbage links, Invalid emails.
Also When I tried to click their "where to shoot" Link it took me
OFF THEIR SITE!!!.

Ok, Sorry now let me make this SHORT and efficent..

I am looking for some place preferably Within a hour or two Of
Orange county california (Brea, Fullerton etc). Where I can go with
some freinds and take a mix of Weapons, Shot gun, LR, Handguns
And set up some targets. Shoot the targets have a good day of
Safe responcable fun. Will at end of day happily clean up our Debris
and would be able to return in the future..

As of now BLM has NOT Helped they have only complicated the search..

Also If you have places I would like to be able to verify somewhat where it
is and mabey figure out how to get there, so please dont just say "Dirt
road in So and so valley" Please be a little more specific..

PLEASE mention as many places as possible
MAIN THING WOULD LIKE THEM TO BE CLOSE
TO ORANGE COUNTY AS POSSIBLE AND LEGAL!!

thank you

All i can say is GOOD LUCK!!! I used to live in the high desert region around 10 or so years ago when you could shoot at just about any turn off on the 15 freeway...its all closed now. The only places ive found to LEGALLY shoot anywhere in the so. cal area are at gun clubs/ranges.

Too bad you don't live near me.

Shooting Range in Princeton Iowa where people bring
TONS of garbage to shoot at. Old refrigerators, televisions,
etc. Although the only "legal" thing to shoot at is paper
and clay pigeons, the guys who pick the place up really
only get irritated when people shoot glass.

There have been guys there with trailer mounted 50 caliber
machine guns (modified to shoot semi-auto only)
They shot railroad track targets and man hole covers.

One guy brought a plastic 55-gallon barrel.... and couldn't
hit it at 15 yards with his little pistol.

I've seen computers, maniquins, bowling pins, softballs,
spray paint cans, food-service size cans of creamed corn
and vegitable soup get shot at. All pretty fun to watch.

One guy claims someone shot a bottle of Tannerite,
which brought the local authorities out to see who was
setting off explosives. Too bad I missed that one.

My girlfriend wants me to move to OC, but the gun issues in that state are leaving me cold. As far as a place to shoot, and after thinking about it a bit, I'd say take the 15 North to the 10, then go East. About 3 1/2 hours later, you'll be in Arizona, and once there you can pick a place to shoot. If you want a nice range, make a weekend of it -- Go to Phoenix, and at the North end I-17 and Hwy 74 is Ben Avery shooting range; the largest outdoor range in the U.S. $5 to shoot all day, but you're restriced to paper targets on the main range, and no .50 BMG's.

Failing that, pretty much any AZ land that's NOT Indian reservation, is outside city limits and at least 1/4 mile from any occupied structure is a shooting area. If you do it, be careful, but the locals are generally pretty forgiving. I had a sherrif's vehicle less than half a mile from me just outside Phoenix one Sunday, and he just waved and watched...

I realize it's a long drive, but from OC, everything is a long drive...
