i am looking for a nice sized USED gunsafe in new york(maybe 60x30x24 thereabouts) and cant seem to find anyplace that sells them.

i found a website of a store that sells used safes in miami and the prices are good, all a little under $1000, which is my limit to spend. but i spoke to the man who runs it and he said it would be about $300 to ship it here.

any of you know where i would be able to find used gun safes in NY or close to NY??

thanks!

I don't know what you have available in NY, but I would think that for $1000 you can get a safe, the size you describe, delivered new to your door! The last safe I purchased was a 32 gun model, and with tax it was under $900 delivered, and that with the fire-protection package included.

Sorry, don't know a thing about the used safe market.

God Bless,

I just bought a new Browning with fire protection, 18 gun safe with compartments and shelving for $729 new from Cabelas. They put it in to the back of the pickup and off I went. The Cabelas is in Hamburg PA, depending on where exactly you are in NY, a few hour drive. Your local gunshops should have something.

Any time they have the fire protection rating, you can be assured they are "nice and strong".

Fixxxer that's really wierd...every time I have been in there I look at the pistols/revolvers and always handle them...targeting, dry firing and checking the mechanics. Must be on a store by store basis if they don't let ya handle them there. But how the heck do they expect to sell them if you can't handle them? Here all you have to do is show them your FOID card (Firearms Owners ID) and they will take em out of the case and let you handle them. Granted they are right there with you but still. I'd never buy a gun from any place that wouldn't let me handle it. Strange....wonder how many others of this store are like the one in Middletown NY.

Don't beleive Fixxer is quite 21 yet, Mack - the store employees won't let him handle handguns until then, is the story I get.

Used gun safes are kinda tuff to find, I think because most people who buy them put them in there house and leave them in the same spot forever, hopfully to never move that heavy #@!%* again! Mine weighs 700 pounds empty, and its only a medium sized 20 gun I think.

Galyan's has good prices on safes, guns and ammo. A google search may enable you to find one convenient to your location.
